Improved bus services to JR Hospital launched
Pulhams has launched an enhanced bus service to help people travel to and from the JR Hospital.
The bus and coach operator has taken on the H2 service, previously operated by Stagecoach, with support from Oxfordshire County Council and improved the timetable.
It now provides an increased frequency of buses on the route, with services operating every 30 minutes between Witney, Eynsham, Summertown and the hospital on Mondays to Saturdays. Four journeys will also operate in each direction on Sundays.
The timetable has also been extended to provide additional early morning and late evening journeys extending to and from Carterton.
And in further good news for bus passengers, weekday journeys now also serve Oxford Brookes University’s Headington Campus, with stops on Gipsy Lane.
Alex Chutter, Area Director of Pulhams, said: “This is fantastic news for bus users and the communities on the route, and particularly those who need to visit the JR Hospital – whether for work, to visit loved ones or for medical appointments.
“Providing improved connectivity to the JR Hospital is a key area of focus for our business currently, and we’re proud to be able to be able to announce this latest improvement, which follows several recent improvements made by our colleagues at Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel. We are grateful to Oxfordshire County Council for its support to ensure we could take on and enhance this vital service for bus users.”
Gloucestershire-based Pulhams Coaches was established in 1880 and operates bus and coach routes in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, as well as being the area’s premier coach hire provider.
Pulhams Coaches is part of the Oxford Bus Group portfolio of operating companies owned by the Go-Ahead Group which also consists of Oxford Bus company, Thames Travel, Carousel Buses and City Sightseeing Oxford.
